do you Know Jesus, the Christ?

One Solitary Life
By pastor and author, Dr. James Allan Francis (1864–1928).

He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.

He grew up in another obscure village, where he worked in a carpenter shop until he was thirty.

He never wrote a book. He never held an office.

He never went to college. He never visited a big city.

He never traveled more than two hundred miles from the place where he was born.

He did none of the things usually associated with greatness.

He had no credentials but himself.

He was only thirty three, his friends ran away.

One of them denied him.

He was turned over to his enemies, and went through the mockery of a trial.

He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.

While dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing, the only property he had on earth.

When he was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the pity of a friend.

Nineteen centuries have come and gone,

And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race, and the leader of mankind's progress.

All the armies that have ever marched, all the navies that have ever sailed,

All the parliaments that have ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned put together

Have not affected the life of mankind on earth as powerfully as that one solitary life.

"Know Jesus; Know peace.
No Jesus, No peace."

The ABC of Salvation

  • ADMIT that you have sinned and fallen short of God's standards. (Romans 3:23)

  • BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross and rose again to pay for your sins. (John 3:16)

  • CONFESS that Jesus is your Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9, Matthew 10:32)

A Prayer You Can Pray

If the words above are stirring something in you, you don't need a church, a pastor, or a perfect moment. You just need an honest heart. Salvation is not about the words — it's about the Savior those words are spoken to. If you'd like to respond to Jesus right now, you can pray something like this:

"Jesus, I admit that I have sinned and fallen short of who You created me to be. I believe You are the Son of God, that You died on the cross for my sins, and that God raised You from the dead. Right now, I turn from my old way of life and I confess You as my Lord and my Savior. Thank You for forgiving me. Thank You for the gift of eternal life. From this day on, I belong to You. In Jesus' name, amen."

The words matter less than the heart behind them. If you prayed this — or something like it — welcome to the family of God. We want to celebrate with you and help you take your next step!
